A little about me

Hi, and welcome to VickisCraftyCo

​

I think it may be customary to tell you a bit about myself before I talk to you about the artifical flower designs I make – so here goes;

​

My name is Vicki and I am very happily married and live with our family in Witney, Oxfordshire.

​

I worked in corporate roles for over 30 years, when I was made redundant at the same time as suffering a significant family bereavement, I was prompted to take a step back and start a new chapter in my life.

​

Very soon after meeting my husband, he gave me a gift of a canvas that I see every morning when I wake up - it says

“life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain”.

​

Remembering that I loved making things as a child, I visited a local craft shop to find myself a little project to keep me  busy. I saw a door wreath in the shop, and decided to make one to brighten up my front door.  After an hour or so I had made something I was proud to put outside our home. 

​

I went back to the craft shop, bought a few more bits and pieces and made another wreath, this time for indoors. Having done the usual and put them on Facebook offering to make them for anyone, family and friends commented and liked my post, and before I knew it I had my first order. 

​

With some help from a wonderful friend who will always be very special to me, she taught me about being my “best self”.  With this in mind plus a big spoonful of courage and because of the joy it was bringing me, I set up my own little business, and I am loving where it is taking me.  I am therefore very proud to say VickisCraftyCo was created from 

“ - learning to dance in the rain!”

I am a self taught artificial floral designer, focusing on (but not limited to) weddings, memorials, door wreaths, gifts, home decor and special events, always happy to try my hand at anything you may want.
